Ordering & Shipping Information

Shipping Notice: We only ship eggs and chicks within the 48 continental United States.

Hatching Eggs: Shipping for hatching eggs is a flat $15.00 for up to 2 dozen eggs, shipped via USPS Priority 1-3 days. We ship hatching eggs most days of the week, as we want our eggs to leave as soon as possible to get to you fresh! It is not uncommon for eggs to be shipped the same day they are collected. We package our eggs securely to prevent breakage or scrambling. Our birds are healthy and produce nice strong eggs that ship extremely well. We test fertility here at our farm via incubation, but because of conditions beyond our control (Including USPS handling, fluctuation of temperatures, your incubation practices, etc…) we cannot guarantee development or hatch rates after the eggs have left our farm. A fertilized egg can not show development for various reasons including those listed above, and once the egg has been incubated you cannot tell by cracking it, that it was an unfertilized egg. We do not ship eggs from our pens without confirming fertility here at the farm. Please only purchase hatching eggs from us if you understand our hatching eggs policy! We always recommend purchasing chicks from us, if you want a guaranteed number of live chicks. 

Day Old Chicks / Quail: There is a minimum order of 10 day old chicks. We reduce minimum orders for adjoining states from June through mid-September (no minimum for local pick up). We charge a $10.00 shipping fee plus a $5.00 box charge on all orders. Chicks are shipped USPS Priority Mail and usually arrive at their destination within 2 - 3 days after being shipped. Chicks are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. Please be prepared to pick up chicks promptly from the post office when they arrive. We guarantee live arrival on all chick orders (not including extras sent). Live arrival guarantee is void if chicks are left at the post office waiting for pick up more than 3 hours. If any chicks arrive deceased, promptly send us pictures of the chicks and the box/label to our email (sales@coosavalleyhatchery.com) with your order number in the subject line. We can issue a refund or give a credit for the value/purchase price of the deceased chicks, not including extras. No refunds/credit will be given for the shipping charge.

Cancellations: If you choose to cancel your order after 7 days of placing it, we will issue you a credit to be used on a future purchase. We DO NOT do money back refunds on cancellations that are done after 7 days. This is due to the probability of having already set the eggs, which we could have sold to someone else as hatching eggs. If you need to cancel your order, please email us the reason for your cancellation and your order number. In the event that we cannot fill an order, we reserve the right to cancel an order, and a full refund will then be issued.

Ship Dates: We fill all orders on a first come first serve basis, in the order of received payment. Typically orders for day old chicks can take 2-8 weeks, sometimes longer depending on the number of pending orders or during times of low egg production. Please allow 1-2 weeks for hatching egg orders to be shipped. We try to be as flexible as possible, if you have special requests, we can bump orders back, if you want chicks or eggs after a certain date, but cannot bump orders ahead of others. We hatch and ship chicks every week throughout the year (excluding November, December, January and February).

NPIP: We participate in the National Poultry Improvement Plan. Our flocks are tested annually by the state vet or USDA. Our NPIP number is 64-1687AL.
